FIREFIGHTERS

We purchased the Aqua Vest Active Firefighter Rehab System about 18 months ago for use during fire incidents and live fire training sessions as well as other training in hot and humid conditions such as Urban Search & Rescue Training. We have been very pleased with the six person system and have used it without any problems. A lot of our young firefighters are not familiar with the system until they use it during an incident and they are amazed at how well it works in bringing their body temperature down. Our rehab time frame has been reduced due to the Aqua Vest System. The system is very easy to set up and maintain and is easy to use. HAZMAT

"This past weekend I was able to self demo then allow some others to demo the cool-shirt system during our HAZMAT Ops training.  We did a head to head comparison against the cool vest (vest system with chemical component packs that slip into the vest).

 

Comparison:

 

Cool Vest " Nice and cold once it was put on, little cumbersome with the pack (felt that it was heavy), continued to provide cooling for the first 15 minutes then he could feel that it was not as effective when first placed on.

 

Cool Shirt " Nice and cool once it was put on, fit perfect with pack under kidney pad of Scott Airpack, continued to provide cooling throughout the entire evolution and continued to cool once suit was taken off.

 

Temperature of Cool Vest after evolution was complete (77 degrees) Cool Shirt (68 degrees) " taking into account ice chips were used not a solid block of ice.

 

I can say after wearing the cool shirt system, then conducting another evolution without the cool shirt system that your product hands down provides the most effective means of cooling personnel in a Level A suit.  I had little condensation on the main view port of the suit, while those in the cool vest system and without cooling were constantly having to wipe down the main view port of the suit.  When the true HAZMAT Techs put the shirt on, they were blown away by the cooling factors associated with the system.  A direct quote from them was, "Not only would this be effective for those who are making the entry into the hot zone, those who are in a RIT (rapid intervention team) status poised to move can continue to remain cool while in their Level A suits on stand-by; completely ensuring that they will be effective if they (RIT Team) had to be employed."

 

I don"t know how much feedback you get from your guys out selling, but I wanted to share this with you.  The HAZMAT Team loved it and are working to get their boss to purchase the system.
